Independence

Once upon a time. A shiny new calculator appeared to the masses. Shock and awe. The masses decided they would rely on said calculator to solve ALL their arithmetic problems. YAY! The calculator was a fancy fellow. He knew now that the masses needed him. He was one to boast and groan. One day the calculator just stopped working. Some say out of spite. Sorrow and sadness swept the nation. A child arose and said.
“But did we not do our arithmetic calculations before the calculator?”. The masses whispered amongst themselves. It’s true. It’s true. The masses remembered the ways of old. The self-reliant ways where they were not ruled by the calculator’s whims and cares. The people remembered their own power. The people did their arithmetic, the same way they did before the calculator. Nothing was lost. Happiness was restored. ***fin***
